Rhythms of Life
posted in Updates on 12/29/2009 - 0 CommentsAs Novation Church takes shape, we are beginning to see the word “church” not as a noun, but as a verb. Church isn’t somewhere we go, but it is a lifestyle we lead, a lifestyle of connecting with God and with others.
This lifestyle is centered on Jesus Christ. As with any lifestyle, there are two parts that make up the whole: personal and public. Both one’s personal and public life are comprised of schedules, routines, habits, and activities. These things create the rhythm of one’s life.
Novation Church is made up of people who have committed to doing life together, allowing the rhythms of our lives to connect us to God and to each other in order that we might see God’s kingdom be realized in both our private lives and in our community.
Personal Rhythms
Grow in your relationship with God: through prayer, Scripture, journaling, quiet, etc.
Invest in yourself
View God at work in your world
Establish goals for your future
Public Rhythms
Speak/send encouragement to one Novation person daily
Pray for three Novation people daily
Attend a Novation Cell Gathering weekly
Connect with two Novation people to share a meal weekly
Engage with one person in or toward the Nova Conversation weekly
These rhythms are designed with two thoughts in mind. First, to be general enough to not be seen as legalistic, allowing each member of Novation Church to live out his/her life in a unique relationship with God. Second, to be specific enough to create intentionality – a life lived without specific intention is a life that will not realize its potential.
